Nuciferine Detection Service

Nuciferine is an aporphine alkaloid first isolated from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn as the main bioactive ingredient. Additionally, it was also obtained from some other plants. Nuciferine has been shown to stimulate insulin secretion by binding to sulfonylurea receptor, then increasing intracellular calcium and stimulating cAMP responsive pathway. Nuciferine was also found to reduce the development of atherosclerosis via inhibition of vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration. The multiple biological properties of nuciferine, including anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-obesity, anti-fatty liver, antidiabetic, anti-hyperuricemic, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antioxidant activity, have contributed to its rapid development in the pharmaceutical industry.
