Description | Alkaloid from the plants of genus Sophora, which are used in the traditional Chinese medicine. The compound is able to arrest the cell cycle in G2/M phase and induce apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma and in prostate cancer models. Aloperine has anti-proliferative effects also on breast cancer cell lines and is able to supress colony formation. In addition, it has been reported that it possesses also anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and anti-viral properties. |
