Description | Chelerythrine is a natural compound that binds to the DNA of cells, which has been shown to have anti-cancer effects. The anti-cancer effect may be due to the inhibition of adenosine A3 receptor. Chelerythrine also has an inhibitory effect on cell factor, neurotrophic factors and protein synthesis. This drug is not active against etoac extract or squamous carcinoma cells. However, it does show synergic effects with chelerythrine in inhibiting growth of these cells. |
