Description	Jatrorrhizine iodide is a natural compound that belongs to the group of polymerase chain inhibitors. Jatrorrhizine iodide is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, which prevents transcription and replication. Jatrorrhizine iodide has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glucose uptake into cells by binding to the glucose transporter GLUT4. It has also been shown that this drug can inhibit multidrug efflux pump activity in pharmacological agents, thereby increasing their effect.
