Description | L-Dicentrine is an alkaloid found in the Chinese herb Stephania. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of LPS-induced inflammatory response, which is caused by the bacterial endotoxin lipopolysaccharide. L-Dicentrine also has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β). L-Dicentrine also inhibits 5HT2 receptors and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on mouse tumor cells. This compound may also be beneficial for reducing atherosclerotic lesion formation in mice. |
