Catalog Number | ACM303344-1 |
CAS Number | 303-34-4 |
Description | Lasiocarpine is a n-oxide that has been shown to have genotoxic effects in a model system. This drug induces cell lysis and is toxic to humans, causing liver lesions. Lasiocarpine is metabolized by cyp3a4, which is found in the liver. Retrorsine, which is also metabolized by cyp3a4, has been shown to be carcinogenic in experimental models and humans. The potency of lasicarpine as an anticancer agent is low because it lacks the ability to cross the blood brain barrier. |
