Description | Rhoeadine is a 2-adrenergic receptor agonist that was first isolated from the roots of Rhoeada aspera. It is structurally related to cryptopine and hydroxyl group, which are found in the plant genus Rhoeada. The synthesis of this compound has been achieved through a two-step process with asymmetric synthesis. This compound can stimulate adenyl cyclase, which leads to an increase in cyclic AMP levels and activation of protein kinase A. It is also able to induce locomotor activity in mice by acting on their central nervous system. |
