Description | Scopine hydrochloride is a pharmaceutical preparation that contains ethyl formate, an inorganic, aromatic hydrocarbon. It is used as an active substance for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. Scopine hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit IL-10 production in vitro and attenuate the development of skin lesions in vivo. It also has anticholinergic effects, inhibiting acetylcholine release from nerve endings. Scopine hydrochloride binds to chloride ions (Cl-) and quaternizes with hydrogen chloride (HCl) to produce a salt, which can be dissolved in organic solvents such as acetone or ether. |
