Description | Scopolamine is a cholinergic drug that is used to treat the symptoms of motion sickness, nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, and Parkinson's disease. It has been shown to have a depressant effect on the central nervous system. Scopolamine also binds to receptors in the brain, which are responsible for memory and learning. The drug is also known to inhibit the synthesis of growth factors, which may be linked to its ability to affect locomotor activity. Scopolamine hydrochloride (also known as (-)-scopolamine) is an acetylcholine receptor antagonist that blocks the action of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction and postganglionic sympathetic neurons. It also inhibits Ca2+ influx in cytosolic preparations from rat liver microsomes. The following product descriptions were generated using Yotpo:6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside: Rif |
