Description Sophocarpine is an alkaloid from Chinese medicinal plant Sophora alopecuroides. The compound is a low potency blocker of hERG channels and is able to shift the inactivation curve of cardiac action potential. It was shown to be anti-nociceptive agent since it has central and peripheral analgesic properties. Sophocarpine is an anti-inflammatory compound and excerts its activity via NF-κB and MAPKs inactivation.
