Description a-Lobeline hydrochloride is a bromazine derivative that has been shown to be an effective agent for the treatment of bronchitis and emphysema. It is used in the form of a syrup or tablet, and can be administered orally or by inhalation. Lobeline inhibits the enzyme cytochrome P450, which is necessary for the oxidation and activation of a number of drugs including aminophylline and morphine. Lobeline also has a high boiling point, so it can be used at higher temperatures than other drugs.
