Description | L-Stepholidine is a natural compound that has been shown to have synergistic effects with anti-cancer compounds such as 5-Fluorouracil. L-Stepholidine also has a matrix effect on tumor cells, which is thought to be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme activity of matrix metalloproteinases. This inhibition may lead to the inhibition of metastasis and tumor growth. L-Stepholidine also has an effect on locomotor activity in rats and on voltage-dependent calcium channels. It has been shown to bind to dopamine receptors in humans, and this binding can lead to structural changes in the receptor that are associated with Parkinson's disease. |
